What BS 5306 requires
BS 5306-3 is the British Standard for the commissioning and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers. It specifies three levels of service: monthly basic checks (by the responsible person), annual service (by a BAFE-registered engineer), and an extended service or replacement every 5 years.
